As part of the Alibaba Cloud Singapore Summit 2023, we supported the delivery of a closed-door China Enterprise Go-Global Forum, designed to foster practical exchanges between Chinese enterprises and Southeast Asia’s tech, legal, and investment stakeholders. Held in Singapore and themed “Tech for Innovation,” the event marked a major milestone in Alibaba Cloud’s global expansion strategy, anchored by the upcoming launch of its International Competence Center in the city-state.

Our team provided end-to-end event support, including program planning, speaker curation, on-site execution, and bilingual editorial coverage. These efforts helped shape high-impact conversations that addressed key challenges and opportunities for Chinese companies expanding into Southeast Asia’s digital economy.

Curating a Cross-Border Dialogue on Southeast Asia Market Entry

The Go-Global Forum brought together representatives from leading Chinese tech companies and Southeast Asia–based institutions for a half-day of keynotes and panel discussions focused on:

  • Go-to-market strategy and localization frameworks

  • Regulatory compliance in Southeast Asia’s digital landscape

  • Brand-building in diverse cultural contexts

  • Operational scaling and regional capital planning

Speakers included regional policymakers, venture capital firms, and cross-border legal and consulting experts, offering a multidimensional view for stakeholders navigating China–Southeast Asia expansion.

Building a Platform for Practical Exchange

The forum addressed real-world considerations facing outbound Chinese enterprises:

  • How to pace international market expansion and reduce execution risk

  • How to build compliance-ready teams with the right governance structures

  • How to adapt brand messaging to resonate in different markets

  • How to manage fragmented digital and regulatory environments across markets

These themes were reinforced through bilingual editorial coverage we developed and published on KrASIA and 36Kr Chuhai. The content delivered key takeaways to both Chinese and global audiences engaged in international growth planning.

Elevating Alibaba Cloud’s Position in China–Southeast Asia Enterprise Strategy

Through this initiative, Alibaba Cloud was positioned as more than a cloud infrastructure provider. It became a convener of strategic dialogue and a facilitator of cross-regional partnerships for Chinese enterprises going global.

Our contributions extended the forum’s impact:

  • Pre- and post-event coverage amplified the summit’s themes and featured expert insights

  • Localized content offered actionable guidance for Chinese tech leaders entering Southeast Asia

  • Distribution across 36Kr Chuhai and KrASIA increased visibility among investors, policymakers, and enterprise decision-makers in both China and Southeast Asia
