The 2025 Global Climate Finance Forum (GCFF), held in Jamaica, brought together global leaders to address a pressing issue: while climate solutions abound, financing mechanisms—especially for emerging markets in the Global South—remain inadequate.

Our objective was to bring this conversation to China. Working closely with GCFF organizers, we helped introduce the forum’s key messages to Chinese stakeholders, reframing climate finance as both an investment opportunity and a global development imperative.

We published a feature through 36Kr Chuhai and syndication partnerships, reaching over 50 Chinese media outlets spanning business, policy, and sustainability verticals. This coverage helped contextualize GCFF’s themes for a China-based audience, linking the forum’s discussions to China’s own evolving priorities in green finance and outbound capital deployment.

Creating Context for Chinese Stakeholders

  • Introduced the concept of climate finance as an infrastructure challenge—underscoring systemic issues such as borrowing costs, currency volatility, and risk-sharing mechanisms, as experienced by innovators in Nigeria, India, Brazil, and elsewhere.

  • Shared examples of early-stage climate solutions being scaled by entrepreneurs in the Global South, including solar grid resilience, regenerative agriculture, and recycled battery storage—underscoring their relevance for investors exploring emerging market impact strategies.

  • Amplified GCFF’s multilateral call for more inclusive financial architecture, including hybrid financing models, tax incentives for institutional investors, and local expert-led due diligence practices.

  • Highlighted Jamaica’s role as host and its leadership in debt reform, climate resilience bonds, and regional coordination—providing a practical case study of policy innovation for developing economies.
