Encouraging Social Impact with Technology
One of the largest Chinese internet giants sought to encourage positive social impact via supporting early-stage startups with technology that focused on societal development. With 36Kr Global's help they were able to initiate a Southeast Asia-wide social innovation challenge, in partnership with the entrepreneurship arm of the National University of Singapore (NUS Enterprise), reaching more than x startups across the region.

Establish social impact branding within Southeast Asia and connecting with leading socially-driven startups in the region.
36Kr Global planned and executed all aspects of the innovation challenge, including crafting challenge statements, online marketing, organising the final event, and selecting the judging panel. Over 6 months, in collaboration with NUS Enterprise, the challenge saw over 350 successful registrants from Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Indonesian startup, Aruna, was crowned grand winner of the challenge based on its use of digital technology to help fishermen in Indonesia improve their livelihoods through better market access and fairer trading opportunities.

With the help of 36Kr Global, the client was able to:
Reach more than 350 startups in SEA and strengthen their stance as a socially-driven enterprise.
Support the top 10 finalists with cash prizes — grand winner was awarded SGD 60,000 and other finalists received SGD 10,000.
Provide the winner and finalists opportunities for idea development, mentorship and incubation support, and networking with the client and NUS Enterprise as well as access to BLOCK71.
Include the winner and finalists in the 10x1000 Tech for Inclusion programme jointly established by the International Finance Corporation and the client.
